About the categories

This page will outline all the categories we will be hosting.

Please note each category will have its own submission form. So please use the buttons associated which each category to enter.

Maximum of 2 entries per person per category (if you want to submit 2 entries you must submit two seperate forms per category)

in addition to the prizes each category will recieve an award.

Platinum – 4th – 10th

Gold – 11th – 15th

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • Free entry
  • Entries must be in digital form (10Mb limit JPG or PNG) and will only be accepted via the submission links below
  • Entry is open to residents of Australia and New Zealand only
  • Maximum of 2 entries per person per category (if you want to submit 2 entries you must submit two seperate forms per category)
  • No watermarks or logos
  • All images submitted to the ‘Bintel astrophotographer of the year’ competition can be used by Bintel (The Binocular & Telescope Shop) for marketing or reposting purposes with credit to the photographer
  • Entries by a person under 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian
  • Any images that infringe on copyright will be disqualified
  • If a prize or a portion of a prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Organiser may substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value. The prize cannot be changed by the person who won.
  • If a prize winner is unable to claim any non-monetary prize during any applicable time period (3 months), that person forfeits that prize with no compensation or further liability of the Organiser

  • Well framed
  • Clean processing with no exaggeration of colours
  • Equipment is set up properly (e.g equipment is setup correctly with a flat field and good tracking)
  • Focal length of 135mm plus
